Turks and Caicos is “one of the most inoculated countries in the world”
Earlier this month the Center for Disease Control (CDC) updated their website showing Covid-19 Travel Recommendations by Destination. We were not surprised to find that our Turks and Caicos Islands rating was lowered to a Level 1 or “Low” making it one of the safest places to travel to in 2021. By comparison, on a scale of 1-4, with four being “Very High”, both Canada and the United States were ranked a three, or “High” by the CDC.
“We are very proud that the majority of our adult population is vaccinated, helping us to keep the curve flat and earn an Alert Level 1 from the CDC for safe travel to the Turks and Caicos Islands,”
— Minister of Tourism, Josephine Connolly.
While our tourism industry on the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI) celebrated this recognition, we still have a lot to overcome and our travel requirements haven’t changed much despite the increase in vaccinations in most countries. For those of you considering a Post-Vaccination Vacation to Villa Oasis, we encourage you to read this article we posted about the need for prior testing before travel to TCI.
